ELLIOTT ODENDAHL, LICSW
She/Her/Hers
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and hold a Master’s degree from Augsburg College and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I have had the privilege of working with children, youth, individuals and families of diverse backgrounds who are experiencing behavioral and mental health needs, disruptions in attachment and family relationships, trauma, as well as those experiencing the negative impacts of systemic and structural bias and racism. In addition, I have previously worked with children and youth with neurodiversity-related diagnoses, provided Therapeutic Supervised Parenting to families, crisis support services to foster care providers and support services to families involved with Child Protection.
I have a special passion for providing support and services to adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents, resource parents and anyone from the adoption/foster kinship network. As an adoptee myself, it is an honor for me to be able to give back to the community I am also a part of. I have completed the Permanency and Adoption Competency Certification (PACC) and Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) training to become an adoption-competent therapist. I find much joy in being able to support the unique needs of transracial foster and adoptive families.
I understand that diverse and complex life experiences can lead to complex and diverse therapeutic needs. Therefore, I do my best to provide a therapeutic approach that will meet your unique healing needs and in a way that is comfortable and meaningful to you. Generally, I utilize Narrative, Attachment, CBT, Person in Environment, (PIE), Systems, Solution-Focused, and trauma informed approaches. I look forward to supporting you as you write your own story as a means to activate your personal power, agency, and identity!
